On Wednesday night, sources said, a uniformed NYPD cop was shot three times, including once in the bulletproof vest, while responding to a call of gunshots in Brooklyn.
At around 11:15 p.m., the officer and at least one other cop were near Macon Street and Howard Avenue in Bushwick for a ShotSpotter warning when they came across a gunman who matched the shooter's description, according to police sources.
When the officers ordered the suspect to stop, he turned around and shot one of the officers in the back of the bulletproof vest, the buttocks, and the back of the shoulder, according to reports.
