America hasn't been much of a safe place for the working class. Most people even deny the existence of different classes but it is quite visible if we see the wealth gaps.

The labor movement and class politics are seen as communist tendencies and are seen very negatively by the American state. A long ban on communism and the labor class has done nothing but depreciate the condition of the American working class.

Despite the long suppression of the labor movements and organizations by the capital owners and the state, the labor unions have finally begun to surge which has given a glimmer of hope to the American working class once again.

In the year2020, 10.8% of all wage and salaried workers were members of unions, up 0.5% from 2019, according to government statistics. This is the highest surge in the number of labor unions in the last five years.

According to the statistics, 11 % of the men workers are members of the labor unions while the women who have unionized are 10.8%.

Black workers (11.2%) were more likely to be union members than white (10.3%), Asian (8.8%), or Hispanic (8.5%) workers.

Despite the surge in the numbers, the unionization gap remains drastic between that of government employees and the private sector workers.

Due to the high suppression of the workers in the private sector, only 6.8% of the private sector workers are unionized. In a capitalist economy like the United States, the private sector hires most of the employees. And the figures clearly state, the level of oppression of the workers who work in the private sector.

Although not enough, the unionization of the workers in government workers is 34%.

The unionization of workers plays an important role in creating a just society, as it gives more power to the workers. These things play an important role in changing the working conditions and make it favorable to those who work. However, the business owners tend to suppress these kinds of movements cause it will reduce their profit as the laborers will demand a better wage and better conditions.
