As The US struggles with Coronavirus, Mass Shootings in different parts of the country have traumatized people. The US is no stranger to gun violence. In 2019, 15,208 deaths were reported in the US as a result of gun violence. Among those, 417 were direct casualties of a mass shooting.
130 mass shootings have been reported in the US since January 2021.
‘Shooting at Virginia Beach’
At least 2 people were killed and several others injured in two separate shootings in Virginia Beach last month.
The Police confirmed the death of 2 people and said that 8 more had been shot with possible life-threatening injuries.
‘A child is shot dead at a California office building’
4 people including a child were shot and killed when an armed individual opened fire in a two-story office building on Lincoln Ave in Orange County.
According to Lieutenant Jennifer Amat, the shooting occurred on the second floor of the school. Bodies were found on the second-floor walkway and in a courtyard.
The situation had been stabilized by 7 p.m., and there was no danger to the public, according to police.
Governor Gavin Newsom described the killings as "horrifying and heartbreaking" in a tweet.
‘Convenience store shooting in Missouri’
The shooting that occurred at a convenience store in Koshkonong, a town of about 200 residents on the Missouri-Arkansas border claimed the lives of 1 person and injured 3 more.
The suspect was apprehended by the police shortly after the incident and no other casualties were reported.
‘School shooting in Tennessee’
When the police responded to rumors of a potential school shooter at the Austin-East Magnet High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, they found a male suspect with a pistol and the shots had been fired.
A police officer was injured in the crossfire between the suspect and the police and one other was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Three students from Austin-East Magnet High School were shot and killed outside the school less than three weeks apart this year, according to police.
‘Multiple casualties reported in a shooting in FedEx facility in Indianapolis’
Police responded to the reports of multiple shots being fired at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis on late Thursday.
It was unclear as to how many people were shot. The victims were found at the facility near the airport. I-70 near the crime scene was closed from both directions as a result of the incident.
