As the protesters continue to defy Junta's takeover, Myanmar's military regime has shut down the wireless broadband network in the region.

The Ministry of Transport and Communication directed local providers to temporarily suspend the wireless broadband services in the region until further notice.

Norwegian Telecommunication company, Telenor said that the company is no longer able to continue its wireless broadband internet services in Myanmar. Telenor is one of the leading Internet Service Providers in the Southeast Asian Nation.

Military on Friday had cut off the internet wires in the region overnight. Apart from the optical fiber, which is working at drastically reduced low speed, most of the internet options have been inaccessible to the Myanmar public.

Myanmar has been a country without newspapers and the media outlets have been shut down except a handful of those, which are controlled by the military. The Internet has been the main source of news and information in Myanmar and from Myanmar.
