Donald Trump, former president of the United States, has stated that he will "very likely" launch a third attempt for the White House this month.

"And now, in order to make our nation prosperous, safe, and wonderful, I will very, very, very likely do it again in 2024," Mr. Trump declared at a Thursday rally in Iowa.

"Be prepared, that is all I'm saying, very soon. "Be prepared"

Three Trump advisers reportedly confirmed that the former president is contemplating a second run for office.

According to the story, Mr. Trump was speed-dialing confidants to discuss potential situations as he seeks to capitalize on anticipated Republican victories in Tuesday's midterm elections.

"I believe Trump will run in 2024, like a moth to a flame," a senior adviser told Reuters.

"I believe he wants to run, and he recognizes that announcing before Thanksgiving offers him a significant advantage over his opponents."

The strategists believe that an announcement in the coming weeks could provide the candidate an advantage over prospective challengers for the party's candidacy.

They indicated that it was still conceivable for the former president to delay a decision or change his mind.

Mr. Trump's representative did not respond to Reuters' request for comment.

According to a source, he planned to begin his re-election campaign quickly after Tuesday's elections and had already begun interviewing potential campaign workers.

It is highly likely, according to nonpartisan election forecasters and polls, that Republicans will win a majority in the US House of Representatives and also have a chance of taking control of the Senate, giving them the ability to block President Joe Biden's legislative agenda for the next two years.

In a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, Mr. Biden's approval rating has been below 50% for more than a year, coming in at 40%.

Nonetheless, Mr. Trump's unpopularity persists following his contentious four-year reign that ended with the attack on the US Capitol by his supporters on January 6, 2017, and his repeated bogus assertions that his election loss was the product of fraud.

Mr. Trump is the subject of multiple investigations, including a Justice Department investigation into secret materials he stole from the White House after leaving office, some of which, according to prosecutors, have not been found.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted at the end of last month revealed that only 41% of Americans see Mr. Trump favorably.
