According to Netflix's co-CEO, Korean drama Squid Game is on course to become the company's most popular original series.
Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, provided data regarding the platform's top-performers during a lecture at Code Conference in California on Monday, in a rare step for the streaming service, known for its secrecy around watching figures.
Bridgerton, a costume drama, has been named Netflix's most popular series, with 82 million customers watching at least two minutes of it in its first month on the platform.
While the internet streaming service now has access to watching numbers at never-before-seen levels of detail, it has failed to devise a simple method for deciding which programs are the most popular.
Sarandos also provided a list of the most popular shows based on total viewing hours.
Bridgerton was the most popular series, with 625 million hours seen, while Birdbox was the most popular film, with 282 million hours watched.
The film Squid Game, released on September 17, depicts a cruel reality program in which competitors must either win children's games or die.
