Jane Powell, a legendary Hollywood actress, has died at the age of 92.
Powell died quietly at her home in Wilton, Connecticut, on Thursday, according to Susan Granger, a friend of Powell's and a representative for the family.
The actress died of natural causes at home she shared with her late husband, actor and publicist Dickie Moore, who passed away in 2015.
Powell began his career in show business as a kid vocalist selling Victory Bonds during World War II. He is considered one of the last surviving stars of Hollywood's Golden Age.
In 1944, she made her feature film debut in Song of the Open Road, and she immediately established herself as a leading lady in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musicals.
Powell would go on to star in musicals such as A Date with Judy (1948), Royal Wedding (1951), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), and Hit the Deck (1955). (1955).
She was also a successful theatrical actor who began her career in the 1960s.
Powell appeared in high-profile musicals such as The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady and on television, including the 1980s and 1990s series Growing Pains.
Powell was back on stage around the millennium, including in Stephen Sondheim's musical Bounce.
Powell married five times, the last time to her lifelong partner Moore in 1988.
