Acting Prime Minister Themba Masuku stated Tuesday that the eSwatini government is working hard to restore normalcy to the situation.

Masuku made the remarks while speaking to the nation following recent popular protests.

Criminal groups have hijacked the rallies, and "people have been injured, property destroyed, companies looted, and public highways obstructed" in the last several days, according to Masuku.

The interim Prime Minister reiterated that the administration is listening to the people's concerns and advocated for a peaceful resolution of the issues.

"The government would like to assure all emaSwati (Swazi people), residents of eSwatini, the international community and diplomatic partners that we are working around the clock to ensure that the situation is normalized," said Masuku.
