On Sunday evening, a car slammed through a crowd of spectators at a mud-track event in Fabens, Texas. According to a local newspaper, the incident harmed dozens of people.
A video from the scene shows one of the race cars losing control right away and crashing into a crowd of onlookers.
Footage from the scene of the accident shows a damaged vehicle slammed into many blue tents, as well as people assisting an injured person.
Multiple ambulances and a medevac chopper were dispatched to the racetrack, according to local media.
As a result of the original collision, the car broke through a guard barrier and collided with three more vehicles, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego told ABC-7 that a briefing from the Sheriff's Office confirmed that 29 people were hurt. Eight people were sent to the hospital, with three of them in critical condition, according to the Sheriff's Office.
