The Biden administration said on Friday that it has shut down a Trump-era government office that assisted victims of immigration-related crimes, a decision that exemplifies President Joe Biden's rejection of former President Donald Trump's frequent attempts to link immigrants to crime.
By executive order, Trump established the Victim Of Immigration Crime Engagement Office, or VOICE, during his first week in office in January 2017.
VOICE will be replaced by a "more comprehensive and inclusive victim support system," according to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
