Tragedy struck today when Air India 171, a Boeing 78 7 headed for London, crashed just minutes after takeoff from Ahemdabad. The plane, carrying 242 people, went down in the Meghani Nagar neighborhood, turning a quiet afternoon into a scene of devastation.

Emergency teams and local residents rushed to help, pulling survivors from the wreckage as smoke filled the sky. While the number of casualties is still being confirmed, families across India and abroad are now awaiting news of loved ones.

The flight was piloted by Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and co-pilot Clive Kunder. This marks the first fatal crash involving a Boeing 787, a jet long considered one of the safest. Passengers included citizens from India, the Uk, Portugal, and Canada.

Officials have launched an investigation, and the plane's black box has been recovered. "It's a dark day," said Air India's chairman, while the aviation minister promised full support for the victim's families.
