A 17-year-old girl was pulled out of her class and sent home for wearing an "inappropriate" outfit in the school, NorKam Senior Secondary School. Karis Wilson wore a white turtleneck under a knee-length black dress that had lace trim.

Christopher Wilson, the student's father, claimed that a teacher told his daughter that her outfit reminded her 'of a lingerie outfit'. The female teacher reportedly told her the outfit could "possibly make a male student teacher feel awkward".

A day after the incident, her classmates staged a walk-out to show support. In a Facebook post, Wilson said, "Today, my daughter was sent home for wearing clothing that made her female teacher and her male student teacher feel uncomfortable...Please stand with Karis and I and make sure that those involved are held accountable and that this never happens again."
