Following the tradition, President Donald Trump left a note to his successor incoming President Joe Biden skipping it on the traditional Inauguration Day 'transfer of power ceremonies'.

Without entering the Oval Office, Trump had it delivered via his aide before departing the executive residence early this morning.

The tradition was 'inaugurated' by President Ronald Reagan. Reagan left the note praying for President George H.W. Bush's success on the Resolute Desk.

Bush repeated the same thing for Bill Clinton.

Trump will be the first president in over a century and half no to attend the inauguration ceremony of his successor.
