Mountaineer Ang Rita Sherpa, ten-time Everester who climbed without using bottled oxygen, died on Monday.
Popularly known as ‘Snow Leopard, Ang Rita was awarded Guinness World Record in 2017 as the only human on the planet to have climbed Mount Everest 10 times without an oxygen supplement.
The legendary climber died at the age of 72 at his daughter’s house in Kathmandu.
He first summited the mountain in 1983.
Mountaineer Ang Rita started climbing at the age of 15 and set a world record in December 1987 for the first time.
He was suffering from liver and brain-related problems.
Ang Rita Sherpa was born in 1948 on a small mountain village called Yillajung in eastern of Nepal,
He received the Sir Edmund Hillary Mountain Legacy in 2011.
