As of this writing, no one has been apprehended in connection with the attack. There is no information on the shooter's motives or plans, and the public is advised to be cautious.
Three people have been found dead in northwest Washington, DC, and local police have said that number includes two people who were found in an alleyway and another who was discovered on the street. There are still three people in the hospital with minor injuries.
DC Police Chief Robert Contee announced to the press that the incident occurred in Brightwood Park at approximately 8 p.m. local time, just outside the corner of 7th Street and Longfellow Street.
WUSA's Kolbie Saterfield interviewed a DC resident who told her that the shooting sounded like fireworks going off.
All victims are presumed to be adults. So yet, the names of the victims have not been disclosed.
It's quite annoying. During a press conference, Contee remarked, “We've been discussing gun violence for quite some time.”
To assist with the investigation, Contee wants the area inhabitants to assess the monitoring devices put in their houses.
However, authorities are now offering a $75,000 reward for information on who committed the crime. The police are searching for a black Honda Accord with dark tinted windows and chrome-colored rims. They believe it may have been near the crime scene.
