On charges of attempted abduction, aggravated assault, and battery, the knife-wielding man who reportedly tried to abduct an 11-year-old Florida girl – seen on viral video bravely fighting him off – made a virtual court appearance Wednesday.

The Pensacola News Journal confirmed that Jared Paul Stanga, 30, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after reportedly attempting to abduct Alyssa Bonal while she was waiting at a bus stop alone in West Pensacola at around 7 a.m.

The perpetrator, according to prosecutor Erin Ambrose, poses a direct threat to the society.
