After Myanmar Military vowed retribution after four soldiers died on March 15, more than 1,500 villagers from three villages in Pekon Township of Shan state have fled their homes.

The Junta said it found bodies of the four soldiers, whom it had lost contact with, in a hole near Lelhton village. The bodies were tied with a rope, the regime said.

Their vehicle was found burnt out in a ravine.

The military has detained four villagers and interrogated another four. The regime has threatened extreme action against those who are involved.

Irrawaddy reported, The military has occupied a church, school, and home to accommodate its troops. Following which, many villagers have fled their home.

Around 200 troops have been deployed in Lehton, which has resulted in more than 1,500 people fleeing their homes to avoid arrest.

Tens of thousands of people across Myanmar have taken to the streets day and night to defy the regime.

Security Forces have slain more than 240  people since the coup on February 1.
