According to a post he made on his Truth Social account on Thursday, former US president Donald Trump arrived in Manhattan for a deposition with New York's attorney general, Letitia James.
James filed a civil lawsuit against Trump and his three adult children for fraud in New York state court in Manhattan last September, alleging they are inflating the value of their real estate properties to obtain favourable loans and tax benefits. Trump also sued James following her lawsuit.
In March, Trump asked the court to extend the deadline for the case by six months, stating that the additional time would be required to evaluate the "staggering" volume of evidence, including millions of pages of documents and dozens of witnesses.
In another Truth Social post on Thursday, Trump said, "I will finally be able to show what a great, profitable, and valuable company I built, including some of the greatest real estate assets in the world."
Trump, who seeks to regain the presidency in 2024, was indicted earlier this month by the office of Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg.
He was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records based on allegations that he orchestrated payments to two women before the 2016 presidential election interevent the publication of their sexual encounters with him.
