Beyonce revealed on Wednesday that she would tour Europe and North America in support of her latest album, "Renaissance", for the first time in nearly seven years.
The "Renaissance World Tour" will begin on May 10 in Stockholm and continue across the continent until June 30. The event will resume in Toronto in July and conclude in New Orleans in September.
Beyonce's seventh studio album, "Renaissance", was critically acclaimed and topped the charts at the end of July. The album, inspired by Black and gay dance music culture and pioneers, is up for the prized album of the year award at this year's Grammy Awards, which will be held on Sunday.
Beyonce's last studio tour in support of her album "Lemonade" occurred in 2016.
Last month, the singer-songwriter was criticized online after singing at the grand inauguration of the Atlantis, The Royal hotel in Dubai. In the United Arab Emirates, same-sex relationships are illegal.
