Ukrainian media reported that the death toll from a Russian missile strike in eastern Ukraine grew to 14 on Sunday morning.
According to the online Kyiv Independent, which cited Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Valentyn Reznichenko, rockets that struck a Dnipro apartment complex killed at least 14, including a 15-year-old.
According to a previous estimate by Ukraine's Emergency Service, 73 people, including 14 children, were injured in the incident, and at least 59 people were hospitalized.
It was stated that 38 individuals were saved immediately after the attack while search and rescue activities continued.
In a statement, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed Russia's "heavy missile attack on Ukrainian cities."
"Terrorists targeted Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kryvy Rih, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Ladyzhyn, Burshtyn, the Lviv region, and Khmelnytsky," claimed Zelenskyy.
He claimed that this Russian strike had demolished a residential structure in Dnipro. "An average nine-story panel building, of which there is quite a number in Eastern and Central European cities. All levels of this structure, from the second to the ninth, were destroyed when a Russian missile exploded."
"It was possible to save scores of individuals; those who were injured and traumatized are receiving care. There are children among them, with the youngest girl being three years old, he claimed.
