Sunday, a Russian fighter jet crashed into a home in Siberia, killing both pilots as Ukraine allegedly bombarded the Belgorod region, according to Russian officials.

Irkutsk governor Igor Kobzev stated in a Telegram message that the pilots were killed when the Su-30 aircraft crashed during a test flight into a two-story, two-family home in Irkutsk.

According to Kobzev, a criminal investigation has begun into the cause of the crash, which resulted in a fire and power outages. He added that the residence has five residents and that none of them were injured.

"I extend my deepest condolences to the pilots' families and friends. This is a tragic situation. It hurts when professionals pass away "Kobzev said.

Kobzev reported that 150 homes were left without power after the collision, and crews are still working to restore power.

"We spoke with the locals. We will certainly consider the provision of a flexible fund as well as compensation for property loss "he said. We will not abandon the residents to their misfortune.

The Sukhoi Su-30 is a two-seat, twin-engine combat aircraft.

Monday's crash of a Russian Su-34 supersonic bomber into a nine-story residential tower in the southern Russian city of Yeysk resulted in the death of at least 14 people and marked the second crash of a Russian military aircraft in the previous week. The Su-34 is also a two-seat, twin-engine aircraft.

In addition, Ukrainian forces reportedly shelled the Russian town of Shebekino in the Belgorod region on Sunday, according to TASS, citing a statement by the region's health minister Vladimir Ikonnikov to Telegram.

"Today, fourteen people were affected by the shelling of the town of Shebekino. Sadly, two of them had died prior to the arrival of the ambulances. They are a man and a child of 14 years old "Ikonnikov wrote in his statement.

He reported that five individuals were hospitalized, with four of them in critical condition.

Officials from Ukraine have remained silent on the shelling, maintaining a policy of silence regarding incidents occurring within Russia's borders. Sunday's shelling of Belgorod by Ukraine could not be independently confirmed by UPI.

Sunday, according to Russian officials, explosions were also heard in Belgorod. The region borders the province of Kharkiv in Ukraine.

Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Russia's Belgorod region, stated in a Telegram message that two men with shrapnel wounds who were treated at a local hospital were among the three victims in one family. Another injured woman was treated at the scene.

"There are minor damages to homes, fences, and automobiles. There are emergency services present "Gladkov said last Sunday.

"The administration of the city of Belgorod is tasked with assessing the damage, measuring the windows, and initiating the restoration process."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a portion of the country's electricity has been restored following the weekend's resumption of Russian attacks on the country's infrastructure.

Alexander tupun, spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated in a statement that Russian forces had launched 40 missiles and 16 Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones against Ukrainian infrastructure on Saturday.
