After being besieged by Syrian government forces in the south of the nation, an ISIS leader blew himself up with an explosive belt on Wednesday, according to official Syrian media.
SANA said that "competent security authorities conducted a quality security operation" that resulted in the "killing of terrorist Abu Salem al-Iraqi" in the western countryside of Daraa "after he was surrounded and wounded by multiple bullets before detonating his explosive belt."
According to SANA, al-Iraqi was the military chief of the extremist group in southern Syria.
