On Tuesday, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis hosted a feast for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Acropolis Museum in Athens.
State media said that Prince Mohammed and Mr. Mitsotakis witnessed the signing of a preliminary agreement between the two countries for cultural cooperation.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Saudi Arabian Minister of Energy, and Nikos Dendias, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, inked an agreement for cooperation in energy-related fields.
It establishes a framework for cooperation in renewable energy, electrical interconnection, electricity exports to Greece and Europe, clean hydrogen and its transfer to Europe, energy efficiency, and the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
Spa said that it also outlines intentions to embrace a circular economy approach to carbon and technology to decrease the effects of climate change, such as carbon collection, reuse, transport, and storage, and the direct removal of carbon from the air.
Sheikh Mohammed and Mr. Mitsotakis also supervised preliminary agreements in energy, sports, the fight against crime, and protecting and promoting investment between the two nations.
In addition to agreeing to cooperate in the fields of health, military, science, and technology, the two countries also inked an undersea cable deal.
Additionally, the two nations will collaborate in digital transformation and innovation in the energy sector, including cyber security, and will endeavor to build quality partnerships.
The Mena Hub of the Saudi Telecommunication Company's group will construct the East to Med Data Corridor underwater and land fiber-optic data line with Greek partners, connecting Europe and Asia.
Spa said that the Crown Prince also visited the Acropolis Museum with Mr. Mitsotakis and was informed of its archaeological and historical antiquities and artifacts.
