A shooter opened fire in a popular nightclub in Marbella, injuring at least four people.
This morning's event occurred at the Opium Beach Club when a brawl broke out between partygoers at the famous club for British tourists.
During the melee, a shooter opened fire, resulting in a rush on the dancefloor as people urgently attempted to flee the location. EuroWeekly reports that at least four persons have been transported to the hospital with injuries.
At 1 a.m., police received a complaint regarding the incident allegedly involving using knives and firearms.
Several males are seen in social media footage removing their shirts and one man grabbing a large bottle of beer to use as a weapon before shots are fired, sparking chaos in the nightclub.
A resident who witnessed the shooting told El Confidencial, "I couldn't sleep due to the disco's noise, and then I heard four shots."
"I looked outside because I knew from the start that these were not fireworks like those launched on other evenings. I observed numerous individuals fleeing the property, so I called the police."
The witness stated that at least three ambulances and 18 police vehicles responded to the location.
Officers have reportedly captured the gunman, who is suffering from head and torso stab wounds. Emergency personnel is still on the scene, and hed he is currently hospitalized, although it is unknown what his condition is.
The police have acknowledged that they have begun investigating the fight at the renowned establishment.
