Two young women in their 20s were discovered dead inside an apartment in Sydney's southwest.
Following a call from a concerned neighbor, emergency personnel was dispatched to a residence on Canterbury Road near Dibbs Street in Canterbury.
Officers from the Burwood Police Area Command entered the unit upon arrival and discovered the death of two women.
The remains have not been officially recognized, but sources told The Daily Telegraph that they were sisters who had been deceased for several days.
The police have initiated an investigation into their deaths.
Police stated, "A crime scene was established, which will be examined by forensic police specialists, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths has begun."

Wednesday morning, police are anticipated to deliver an update later in the day.
