Sunday morning, a shooting outside a nightclub in Chattanooga, Tennessee, resulted in three fatalities and 14 injuries.

The Chattanooga police chief, Celeste Murphy, informed reporters that two people died from gunshot wounds, and a third was killed by a vehicle.

Investigators think that many shooters were involved. Murphy stated that the gunshot was an "isolated incident" and that there was no ongoing risk to public safety.

Six adolescents were shot in downtown Chattanooga following an altercation over the weekend.

The most recent shooting in Chattanooga was reported mere hours after shooters opened fire on a crowd in Philadelphia's famed nightlife district, killing three and injuring eleven more.

This weekend, mass shootings — defined as the shooting of four or more persons — were also recorded in Michigan, Texas, and Arizona.

A Saturday shooting at a strip mall in Phoenix resulted in the death of a teenage girl and the injury of eight others.

Mass shootings have shaken the United States and reignited calls for stricter gun legislation in recent weeks.

Last month, an 18-year-old gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, killing 19 pupils and two instructors.

According to an internet database, there have been at least 240 mass shootings in the United States during the past five months, with more than 18,500 lives lost to gun violence.
