After a private plane inadvertently entered restricted airspace, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were momentarily evacuated from their beach property in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Officials from the Secret Service stated that precautionary security steps were taken, but no substantial threat to the president.

"Shortly before 1pm today [Sunday NZT] a privately owned aircraft entered the restricted airspace over Rehoboth Delaware after mistakenly entering a secured area," said Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the Secret Service. The aircraft was guided out of the restricted airspace promptly.

A preliminary inquiry revealed that he continued that the pilot was not using the correct radio channel and was not following published flying directions. The Secret Service will interview the pilot.

A White House official reported that the president and first lady returned to their beach house later that afternoon.

Thursday night, the president landed at his beach residence to celebrate Jill Biden's birthday on Friday. Sunday morning is anticipated to mark their return to the White House (Monday NZT).

In April, Washington police issued a danger notice. They evacuated the United States Capitol due to a miscommunication regarding an army plane participating in a military appreciation night event at Nationals Park.

A parachute squad aboard the aircraft prepared to parachute into the baseball stadium as part of a pre-game ceremony. After authorities clarified the military plane's participation in the event, an immediate all-clear was issued.
