Sunday morning, during a boxing event at the Barclays Center in New York City, sixteen people were hurt after false claims of an active shooter spread across the audience.

At approximately 1:05 a.m., a rush erupted as the Gervonta Davis-Rolando Romero boxing battle concluded, according to a New York City Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson.

The NYPD stated that seven persons were transferred to area hospitals, and nine others were treated on-site by medical personnel. It is unknown what triggered the news of a shooter on the loose.
