An audience member assaulted Dave Chappelle on stage Tuesday night at the Hollywood Bowl.
The comic, 48, was performing as part of the "Netflix Is A Joke" festival when the mayhem began about 10:45 p.m., witnesses said.
In shocking camera footage, Chappelle is seen on stage as an audience member charges and smacks him to the ground. Security tackled the attacker on the ground seconds later. According to ABC7, the LAPD reacted to the mayhem.
Following the unprovoked tackle, comedian Chris Rock rushed on stage and hugged Chappelle before asking, "Was that Will Smith?"
After making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's hair loss, Rock referenced the iconic Will Smith smack.
Chappelle appeared to continue the program following the incident.
"I'm not sure if that was part of the show," he subsequently informed the crowd. I took hold of the back of that n–s head; his hair was spongy and absorbing."
The attacker was later transported to the hospital with injuries.
The guy is shown in one Twitter video laying on a stretcher with his elbow facing the opposite direction.
According to a tweet from Brianna Sacks, a BuzzFeed journalist at the concert, "a man charged and tackled" Chappelle shortly before the show ended.
Security "rushed in and began punching and kicking the s– out of Chappelle's assailant."
Chappelle expressed gratitude to Jamie Foxx for jumping in to assist him in another video, saying, "Listen, I just want to say I've had an incredible time."
"I've been doing this for 35 years; I recently stomped on an n–a backstage. "I've always desired to do so," he continued.
Following Foxx's exit from the stage, Chappelle addressed the crowd, saying, "Everyone, compose yourselves."
According to one audience member, Jayvee Vincent, the crowd believed it was part of the entertainment.
"As he was introducing his favorite band to come on stage and perform at the end of the show, some random person charged at him like a football player and tackled him on stage," he told The Post.
After the concert concluded, British comic Jimmy Carr took to Twitter to post a selfie with Chappelle. After witnessing the attack firsthand, the comic called the stand-up show "crazy."
The Hollywood Bowl performance with Dave Chappelle was insane. "I'm just relieved that everyone is safe," he wrote with the image.
Geoff Witt, another audience member, told The Post that there was "shock and anger" directed at the attacker.
"It was just a stupid person attempting something stupid," he explained. "He evaded the initial security."
The Los Angeles Police Department and Chappelle's representatives did not respond to The Post's request for comment.
