Rumble Inc, a YouTube-like website popular with conservatives in the United States, has offered Joe Rogan $100 million over four years for all of his broadcasts, just days after the podcaster apologized for using racist slurs in his work.
Rogan is also under heat for disinformation about COVID-19 in his Spotify-hosted program, following the withdrawal of content from the streaming platform by Neil Young and Joni Mitchell.
Spotify added a "content advisory" to any episode that discussed COVID-19 in response to scientists and medical professionals pleading with the company to prevent Rogan from propagating misinformation.
"Dear Joe, we stand with you, your guests and your legion of fans in desire for real conversation," Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski wrote in an email to Rogan on Monday that was posted on Rumble's Twitter page.
"How about you bring all your shows to Rumble, both old and new, with no censorship, for 100 million bucks over four years?"
Rogan did not react quickly to a request for comment from Reuters.
After being added to Spotify in 2020, his show, "The Joe Rogan Experience," has become one of the most popular podcasts. According to the Wall Street Journal, Spotify's exclusive license arrangement for the show was worth more than $100 million at the time.
On the news, shares of CF Acquisition VI, the SPAC that has agreed to take Rumble public, increased more than 18%. Rumble was valued at $2.1 billion in the December deal.
Rumble, founded in 2013, has also signed an agreement to provide video and streaming for Truth Social, a proposed social media program by former US President Donald Trump.
