Bolivian President Luis Arce said in a tweet today that the new paradigm being explored in Latin America had produced great economic and social outcomes.
“We are very honored to receive the Simon Bolivar Medal, a distinction of the Andean Parliament, for having contributed to improving the quality of life in our country and that Latin America is debating a new model with positive economic and social results,” the president wrote on his Twitter account.
The economist and lecturer received the highest honor from the regional legislative chamber for his contributions to development, democracy, and integration.
On the 13th anniversary of the Plurinational State's formation, Arce was honored by the head of the Andean Parliament, Juan Pablo Letelier, at the Casa Grande del Pueblo (government headquarters).
For his part, Letelier emphasized that the Simon Bolivar Award for Latin American Integration is the greatest honor bestowed by the regional parliament on those who contribute to regional development via an integrationist lens.
