Five Syrian soldiers were killed, and 20 others were injured in a rocket attack by Islamic State terrorists on a military transport vehicle in the country's east on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), Syrian state media said on Monday.
Islamic State, the hardline Islamist group that established a caliphate spanning portions of Syria and Iraq in 2014, lost control of all territory it held in 2019.
Nevertheless, the group maintains a low-level insurgency in both nations.
