The Saudi-led Arab coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen has continued its airstrike on the Iran-backed Houthi forces in the oil-rich Marib province, assisting the Yemeni national army and public resistance.
The coalition said that over 145 Houthi militants were killed and 16 military vehicles destroyed in 29 operations in Marib over the last 24 hours, SPA reported.
Additionally, Yemen's Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani stated that Akram Al-Sayed, a Hezbollah military expert, was killed as Yemeni army troops pounded Houthi positions south of Marib, putting an end to a Houthi militia push to capture control of Marib.
"Sayed, 35, entered Yemen in August 2017 as a member of a Hezbollah-affiliated terrorist cell. On December 3, he was dispatched to Marib's southern fronts with other Hezbollah experts to lead operations and carry out an Iranian plot to accelerate the pace of clashes in the province," the minister revealed.
The Hezbollah expert was assassinated with Houthi militia commander Abu Ashraf al-Asadi and eight other Houthi militants.
"His body was evacuated in an ambulance to the al-Jouba area before being transferred to the Saada governorate, where dozens of Iranian and Hezbollah experts and fighters are buried in complete secrecy."
Al-Eryani urged the international community and permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to "condemn this blatant interference, which undermines Yemen's de-escalation efforts, perpetuates bloodshed, and exacerbates Yemenis' humanitarian suffering."
The minister supported an escalation of sanctions against Hezbollah in Lebanon and encouraged the Lebanese government to rein down the flow of Hezbollah fighters to Yemen.
