China today condemned the United States' arbitrary sanctions against Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, Belarus, and other countries, claiming that they have harmed economic progress and even sparked civil unrest in some of them.
The situation of Cuba, according to a Renmin University academic study, is the most infamous of all since it has been subjected to Washington's economic, financial, and commercial embargo for more than six decades, despite worldwide calls to end it once and for all.
Apart from Cuba, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, and Syria are among the countries that have been sanctioned for the longest period of time, according to the expert.
“The United States launched color revolutions in other countries to overthrow and subvert the regimes legitimately elected by their peoples, and at the same time fostered pro-American political power as an agent of its interests,” the study noted.
It used Venezuela as an example, where the economy fell between 2014 and 2020, there were seven million people in need of humanitarian help in 2019, and the country had a high inflation rate last year.
All of these examples were included in the Chinese inquiry because they raised various doubts about the North American nation's democratic system.
