After explosive-laden drones targeted Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-home, Kadhimi's Turkey's foreign minister sent his best wishes to him on Monday.
According to diplomatic sources, Mevlut Cavusoglu "strongly condemned" the terror incident in which explosive-laden drones struck the residence of Al-Kadhimi early on Sunday over the phone.
Cavusoglu also conveyed the best wishes of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
The Iraqi army reported earlier Sunday that Al-Kadhimi survived an assassination attempt after explosive-laden drones targeted his home.
Following the attempt, Al-Kadhimi called for "calm and restraint from all for the sake of Iraq."
The attempt came amid protests over the results of last month's parliamentary elections by followers of the Iran-backed Al-Fatah Alliance and Hashd al-Shaabi militia.
According to diplomatic sources, Cavusoglu spoke on the phone with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
Cavusoglu and Meredov discussed preparations for the Turkic Council's 8th summit, which will take place in Istanbul on Nov. 12.
