Officials say two individuals were hurt in the chaos at the Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday night, prompted by a bogus report of gunfire.
According to a statement from LAX, the victims were among 300 passengers who frantically fled onto the runway after an erroneous report of a person with a gun in Terminal 1.
Authorities found no bullets were fired, and no firearms were located at the airport once the dust settled.
Airport police, on the other hand, took one person into custody, according to the statement.
The injuries sustained by the two victims were classified as slight to severe in severity. They were both rushed to the hospital.
Incoming flights were temporarily prevented from landing at LAX due to the security scare.
According to the statement, "the FAA has since resumed operations on the south side of the airfield."
