Since no opposition candidates are running in Uzbekistan's presidential election on October 24, the incumbent, President Shavkat Mirziyoev, is largely predicted to win a second term in power.
Mirziyoev will be up against four other unknown candidates, all of whom are pro-government. Three opposition parties were barred from registering or fielding candidates in the election.
It will be Uzbekistan's sixth presidential election since the country's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
According to the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, there are around 21.25 million eligible voters who will vote in 10,760 polling sites across the country.
Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time.
