On the Spanish island of La Palma, more residents were advised to leave their houses on Wednesday, October 20, as the Cumbre Vieja volcano continued to spew lava almost a month after it first erupted.

As lava flows progressed further northwest, 112 Canarias claimed between 40 and 50 residences were under the new evacuation order.

The Spanish Research Council (CSIC) released this video of lava flows on Wednesday night.

According to the EU's Copernicus Emergency Management Service, the lava flow had destroyed 2,185 buildings as of October 19.
