After Canberra reneged on an agreement to buy French submarines, France will send its ambassador back to Australia to "redefine" relations.

Last month, Australia and the United States and the United Kingdom signed the Aukus security pact, which aims to sustain Western hegemony in the Asia-Pacific.

As a result, Australia terminated a $65 billion (£48 billion) deal with France in order to gain access to US nuclear-powered submarine technology.
The agreement was dubbed a "stab in the back" by Paris.

In response to the shocking news, France summoned its ambassadors from Canberra and Washington, DC.

While attempting to repair the split with the United States, France has continued to isolate Australia.
