India registers 23,529 new COVID cases in 24 hours

On Thursday morning, India recorded 23,529 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 3,37,39,980 since the epidemic began in January of last year. The number of cases on Thursday was 24.6 percent more than the number on Wednesday, 18,870.

In India, the number of deaths caused by Covid-19 has risen to 4,48,062, with 311 more deaths reported in the last day. The number of ongoing Covid-19 cases in India was 2,77,020 as of Thursday morning, with 3,30,14,898 recoveries.

Since the vaccination push began on January 16, more than 88 crore vaccine doses have been administered. On Thursday, approximately 65 lakh pills were distributed to beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, world leaders hailed India for exporting Covid-19 vaccines and other medical supplies to the United Nations.

"Our gratitude extends especially to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, India, China, and the United States," said Suriname President Chandrikapersad Santokhi.

Vaccination, according to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, is the key to surviving the pandemic.
He went on to say, "We fully support the COVAX initiative, from which we have benefited." "We also appreciate the vaccines provided by the United States of America, Turkey, India, China, the European Union, and others."

According to Johns Hopkins University, the coronavirus has infected over 23.32 crore individuals worldwide and killed around 47.73 lakh people since the pandemic began in December 2019.
