Iran said on Monday that it is ready to ship more fuel to Lebanon if necessary, a day after the leader of Lebanon's Iran-aligned Hezbollah group said that more ships carrying Iranian fuel would sail soon to help alleviate the country's fuel shortage.
"We sell our oil and its byproducts based on our own decisions and our friend's needs. If necessary, Iran is ready to send more fuel to Lebanon "In an online weekly news conference, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Saeed Khatibzadeh, stated.
"Certainly we cannot see the suffering of the Lebanese people."
Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah said on Sunday that the first vessel shipping Iranian fuel to Lebanon, which the group announced last Thursday was about to leave Iran, had already sailed.
