Japan's 13 years old Momiji Nishiya became the second youngest to win the Olympic goal medal after she topped Rayssa Leal of Brazil, also 13 who would have been the youngest to win the gold.
The record of the youngest Olympic gold medalist is with the US's Marjorie Gestring, who won the springboard title at the 1936 Berlin Games at the age of 13 years 267 days, just 63 days younger than Nishiya.
Skateboarding has been a new addition to the Olympics. The average age of the participants at the Women's Skateboarding being 14 years and 191 days.
Japan's Funa Nakayama, 16, won the bronze in the event.
