Four individuals have been reported missing in Greenland when a tsunami overwhelmed a town after an earthquake off the Arctic island's west coast.
According to the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, an earthquake with a magnitude of roughly 4.0 on the Richter scale struck northwestern Greenland near the settlement of Nuugaatsiaq late Saturday.
It was claimed that rushing water has destroyed 11 structures in the area.
Police have evacuated 40 individuals from Nuugaatsiaq, according to KNR, Greenland's state broadcaster.
In addition to those who have gone missing, nine people have been hurt, two of them have been critically injured, according to the report.
Experts believe the tremor caused a landslide into the sea, which resulted in the tsunami and flooding.
On the Arctic island, which is an autonomous constituent country of Denmark, this is not an uncommon event.
