On her way home, Silsila Alikhil, daughter of Afghan Ambassador to Islamabad Najibullah Alikhil, was abducted for several hours and badly abused by unknown individuals, according to Afghanistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Alikhil has been rescued from the kidnappers' captivity and is receiving medical treatment at the hospital, according to a statement on Afghanistan's official website.
It strongly condemned the "heinous act" expressing grave worry for the safety and security of Afghan ambassadors, their families, and staff members stationed in Pakistan.
According to the ministry, the daughter of the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan was kidnapped on Friday and abused for several hours on her way home by unknown men.
It urged the Pakistani government to act quickly to safeguard the security of the Afghan embassy and consulates, as well as the diplomatic immunity of diplomats and their families, as stipulated by international treaties and conventions.
"While the Afghan ministry of foreign affairs is following the matter with the ministry of foreign affairs of Pakistan, we urge the Pakistani government to identify and prosecute the perpetrators at the soonest time possible," the statement continued.
