Local authorities claimed a guy buying at a supermarket in Georgia state shot and killed the cashier serving him following a dispute about his face mask, before wounding an off-duty sheriff's officer working at the store.
According to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Victor Lee Tucker Jr., 30, shot the store cashier with a revolver and was then involved in a shoot-out with the off-duty deputy, in which both were injured (GBI).
The statement didn't go into any more information about Tucker's altercation with the clerk, who was also unidentified.
Tucker was apprehended by DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) officers as he attempted to crawl out the front door of the supermarket, according to GBI.
Tucker and the wounded deputy are both in stable condition, according to the report. A second cashier, who had been grazed by a gunshot, was treated on the spot.
