Despite falling behind the western shots in the clinical trial, the Sinovac vaccine is seen highly effective in real-world study.
Bloomberg reports the Sinovac shot being very effective to wipe out the COVID-19 infections against the health workers.
Indonesia's health minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the vaccine was seen 94% effective to protect the infection among the health worker. He also said the vaccine protected 100% from death and 96% from hospitalization.
Indonesia tracked 25,734 health workers in the capital city Jakarta for 28 days after they received a second dose.
Sinovac's efficacy had come into question after it was seen just above 50% effective in its third stage trials in Brazil.
A spokesman for Sinovac in Beijing said the company cannot comment on the Indonesian study until it acquires more details.
