Authorities said, three people have been killed and more than a couple of dozens got injured when a boat capsized and broke apart in rough water off the San Diego Coast.
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said Life Guard, US Coast guard, and other agencies responded to the scene at around 10 am following the reports of the overturned vessel near the rocky peninsula of Point Loma.
San Diego Lifeguard Services Lt. Rick Romero said seven people were pulled by the waves including the three people who got drowned. One was rescued off the cliff while the 22 others made it to the shore themselves, he added.
A total of 27 people were transported to hospitals with "a wide variety of injuries" including hypothermia, Romero said. Most of the victims were able to walk themselves to ambulances, he said.
