New York governor Andrew Cuomo said on Monday that the city is lowering its minimum age for vaccination to 50-years. This means anybody above 50 can get the jab in the city starting from Tuesday.

Andrew Cuomo said during an appearance at Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, “Tomorrow morning 50 and above, make your appointment and get your vaccine. We are now in a new season. We are in the season of the spring, and the spring says it’s a time for renewal, rebirth and you can feel it in the air.”

Cuomo has recently been into controversy following the nursing home scandal and various sexual harassment allegations.

Cuomo, who was initially praised by many for his dealing with the COVID 19, has been accused of misrepresenting COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes in the state.
