Minor Tsunami waves hit Japan's coast after a Powerful 7.2 Earthquake

Authorities in Japan issued a Tsunami warning after the country has been hit by a powerful 7.2 Magnitude earthquake on Saturday.

As a precaution. nearly 7,000 residents were evacuated from the town of Watari.

Japanese TV channel NHK reported that the region has been hit by minor Tsunamis up to 1 meter (3.2 feet). According to the official, there has not been any report of major damage. However, the Tsunami has injured two elderly women.

At least 200 hundred households had to face electricity outages and rail services were blocked.

Tsunami orders were lifted about an hour after the earthquake, NHK reported.

The earthquake had hit the Japanese coast at about 6:09 PM local time(9:09 GMT).

Japan is in the region known as 'The Pacific Ring of Fire, which is said to be a high-risk region for earthquakes.

Japan's buildings are designed to handle the frequent powerful tremors, which has been effective in preventing loss of lives and property.
