Movie Theatres across the country's film capital have been closed for about a year since the lockdowns last spring.

Department of Health for California has some good announcements for the movie industry of Los Angeles county.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced some ease of restrictions after the county moved from red to purple tier last week.

The movie theatres in the county will be allowed to open starting the next Friday, March 19.

However, health restrictions would still be in place and the theatres would only open to 25% of their capacity.

At the moment, about 45% of theatres in North America are opened amid coronavirus restrictions in place.

The opening of theatres in the Film Capital has sparked a wave of hope in the movie industry.

With the increasing vaccine rollouts and decreasing number of cases, we can expect more theatres to open soon.
